BANK CRISIS IMPACTS ELECTION CAMPAIGN.

On September 9, the Moscow City Bank, which was one of the liberal Yabloko bloc’s principal donors, announced its bankruptcy and ceased operations. The bank was one of the main funders of the "Video International" company, which was responsible for creating bloc leader Grigory Yavlinsky’s image. However Yavlinsky’s representatives said that Yavlinsky has already received sufficient commitments from other contributors, including the Most and Imperial banks. (7)
