The RussianConstitutional Court’s ruling that the Chuvash parliament couldnot drop a participation requirement in the last round of electionsmeans that almost one-third of the republic’s parliamentarianswill have to resign, Kommersant-Daily reported July 20.That will give the republic’s president a stronger hand at leastin the immediate future.
