Russian authoritieshave decided to increase the hourly pay of simultaneous translatorsworking at Russian-American meetings from $1.20 an hour to $2.60an hour, Moskovskiy komsomolets reported June 1. The paperdid not say whether this increase would improve the quality ofexchanges between the two countries.
