Zi Yang, a frequent contributor to China Brief, was interviewed by CNBC regarding China’s progress toward building a an advanced manufacturing sector as part of the “Made in China 2025” Plan. A big component of this plan is increasing the sophistication and number of robots in the economy. However, according to Mr. Yang “China can manufacture simple robots but nothing complicated, like the six-axis ones by Japan, Germany and the United States.
