Jamestown Senior Fellow Vladimir Socor Interviewed for RFE/RL Article

Jamestown Senior Fellow Vladimir Socor was interviewed for a RFE/RL article, “New President Wants To End Moldova’s Isolation, But The Obstacles Remain Daunting.” Socor commented on Maia Sandu’s victory in the second round of the recent presidential elections by saying, “[t]he remnants of the Soviet Union were defeated in the Republic of Moldova.” Socor called Sandu “the most competent leader … since [Moldova’s] declaration of independence,” but said she faces a “completely dysfunctional” parliament.
