ASYLUM SEEKERS RETURNED TO RUSSIA.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 2 Issue: 234

Eight Russians who had applied for asylum in Norway approximately one month ago have been refused by Oslo and deported back to Russia, a Norwegian newspaper reported on December 13. Russian diplomatic sources indicated, however, that Norwegian authorities had informed them neither of the refusal nor of the fact that the eight were back in Russia. Despite complaints from Moscow, Oslo has from the beginning refused to provide any information on the identities or the motives of the asylum seekers. (Itar-Tass, December 14.
