AZERBAIJAN’S FIFTH MAJOR INTERNATIONAL OIL CONTRACT RATIFIED.

The Milli Majlis on June 13 ratified the contract on exploration and development of the Talysh-Deniz and Lenkoran-Deniz offshore oilfields in the southern part of Azerbaijan’s continental shelf. Signed earlier this year by a consortium of French, German, Belgian, and Iranian companies and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, and valued at some $ 2.5 billion, the contract is Azerbaijan’s fifth with a major international consortium.
