Despite earlier promises that the Russian governmentwould no longer participate in international grain deals, thisyear’s bad harvest–which even the agricultural ministry sayswill be only 75-78 million tons–may force the Russian governmentto make such purchases, particularly for the Russian Far East,Interfax reported July 14.
