* COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION (KPRF):
All of President Yeltsin’s former prime ministers have spoken, and none has joined the KPRF, which as a consolation prize can fairly claim to be the true opposition. The KPRF has tried to put together a “national patriotic” or “red-brown” coalition, but nationalist groups like Aleksei Podberezkin’s Spiritual Heritage Movement and Viktor Ilyukhin’s Movement in Support of the Army rejected KPRF advances. Except for support from a few Agrarians, the KPRF is likely to go it alone in December.
