GLAZYEV DENIES HIS PARTY MAY ALLY WITH COMMUNISTS.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 1 Issue: 129

Interviewed by Interfax on Monday, the economist Sergei Glazyev rejected persistent rumors that the Congress of Russian Communities (KRO), of which he is a leading member, might form an alliance with the Russian Communist Party (KPRF) if, as many predict, the two parties emerge as major winners in December’s elections. Now that campaigning has officially begun, Glazyev pointed out, election regulations bar parties from creating new alliances. He did not deny that KRO and KPRF officials had held informal talks, but said the only subject discussed was "the removal of the present government." (1)
