Russian president Boris Yeltsin said yesterday following talks with Indian defense minister Mulayam Singh Yadav that relations between Moscow and Delhi are free of problems. Yadav, who is in the midst of a five-day visit to Russia, met a day earlier with Russian defense minister Igor Sergeev. The two reached an agreement prolonging Russian military cooperation with India and also launched discussions on proposed new purchases by India of Russian military hardware. From 1990-1996 India purchased approximately $3.5 billion worth of Russian weaponry. (Russian agencies, October 6-7)
