MOSCOW CONTINUES CRITICISM OF U.S. STRIKES ON IRAQ.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 2 Issue: 165

Russian denunciations of Washington’s two recent missile attacks on targets in Iraq continued to grow in intensity yesterday, with the most noteworthy addition to the cacophony coming from Security Council secretary Aleksandr Lebed. On a plane en route to Chechnya, Lebed compared U.S. behavior in Iraq to the proverbial "bull in a china shop," ascribed the U.S. strikes to Bill Clinton’s reelection efforts, and complained that "there is one strong master [in the world] who spits on everybody."
