MOSCOW PAPER REMINDS RUSSIAN FAR EAST OF CHINESE THREAT.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 1 Issue: 23

In an indication of Moscow’s concerns that the Russian Far East is acting too independently already, an article in the May 25-31 Obshchaya gazeta noted that Beijing would never attack a strong Russia but that “anything can happen if the Far East becomes a separate and independent entity.” The paper sharply criticized those in Moscow who are helping to arm the Chinese communists, who, it suggested, would continue to be expansionist as long as they were in power.
