MOSCOW POLL SHOWS RUSSIANS NOT UNHAPPY IN ESTONIA.

According to the resultsof a Russian Minorities Research Center poll, only 8 percent of the ethnicRussians in Estonia believe that their rights are being violated, the BalticIndependent reported May 5-11. 93 percent said they would remain in Estonia,and only 4 percent were interested in obtaining Russian citizenship. But aRussian Public Opinion Foundation poll in Russia found that many Russiansbelieve that ethnic Russians in Estonia and the other former Soviet republicsare subject to discrimination and need their protection, Ogonek (no. 19)reported. And one Russian in three believes that the borders of Russia shouldbe expanded to include Russian areas in other republics; 46 percent areopposed to such steps.
