MUSLIM ELECTORAL BLOC CREATED IN MOSCOW.

A group of RussianFederation Muslims have created a new electoral bloc, the "IslamicCommittee," which is committed to the territorial integrityof Russia and also to close Russian ties with Muslim countries,Moscow television reported July 11. The group’s leader, HeidarJamal, is a frequent contributor to the Russian nationalist andimperialist newspaper Zavtra and has close ties to Iran,Sudan and Libya. Recently, Jamal began broadcasting his own televisionprogram on Ostankino TV.
