NEW ARMED INCIDENT IN INGUSHETIA.

Unidentified attackers yesterday reportedly killed and wounded several Russian border guards, and are being sought by Russian troops with aviation support. The commander of the Caucasus border troop district, Col. General Viktor Zemtsov, has arrived at the scene and is holding talks with Ingush republic leaders. (6)

The incident comes on the heels of the October 24 Russian paratroops raid on Ingushetia’s Sleptsovsk airport, and is bound to renew charges that attempts are being made to involve this republic in the Chechnya war.
