RUSSIA-LIBYA LOOK TO STRENGTHEN TIES.

Saying that a crisis in relations between Russia and Libya is slowly being overcome, Russia’s Ministry of Emergencies announced yesterday that the two countries have agreed to increase cooperation in the oil and gas industries, as well as in transport, communications, and nuclear energy. The announcement followed a meeting in Moscow of a Russia-Libyan intergovernmental cooperation commission, co-chaired on the Russian side by Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu. A Russian government source reportedly complained that Russian-Libyan cooperation is being impeded by what, in his view, are unjustified international sanctions on Tripoli.
