RUSSIA-NATO COUNCIL MEETS.

A third meeting of the Russia-NATO Permanent Joint Council (PJC) met at the ambassadorial level in Brussels on October 24. In addition to discussing peacekeeping operations in Bosnia, the two sides reviewed an action plan for the PJC agreed upon at the council’s first ministerial level meeting on September 26. They also created a political-military working group of experts on peacekeeping and agreed to update Russia’s Individual Partnership Program under PfP. NATO ambassadors welcomed Russia’s new military representative to NATO, Gen. Viktor Zavarzin. (Western agencies, October 24)
