RUSSIAN NAVY TO GET NEW STRATEGIC SUBMARINE.

Adm. Feliks Gromov, the commander in chief of the Russian Navy, announced yesterday that work would start next week on a new-generation strategic nuclear-powered submarine. He said it would be two or three times more powerful than any submarine now in the fleet. Last week, another top admiral spoke of a new submarine, to be named the "Yuri Dolgoruky," without identifying it’s type. (Itar-Tass October 10, Interfax October 17)
