RUSSO-CHINESE FREE ECONOMIC ZONE.

The Chairman of Russia’s State Customs Committee, Anatoly Kruglov, said yesterday that Russia and China plan to create a joint free economic zone at an unspecified site along their mutual border. Kruglov said that China had already created the proper conditions for the project, but that Moscow continued to await passage of a federal law on free economic zones. Kruglov is to visit China April 15-21 to observe several such zones in China’s southern provinces. (Interfax, April 14)
