SUKHOI OBJECTS TO BEING TURNED OVER TO BANK CONSORTIUM

. One of Russia’s leading aircraft producers, Sukhoi, objects to plans to turn the company’s management over to a bank consortium. According to Sukhoi’s spokesman, management has discovered that the company is included on the list of enterprises whose shares will be transferred to a consortium of the eight largest Russian banks, in return for their guarantee of three trillion rubles in credits to the Chernomyrdin government. Sukhoi is currently working on a new version of the Su-27 super-fighter, hoping for total sales of $17 billion on international markets. (6)
