TYCOONS ON THE STUMP….

Boris Berezovsky, running for a seat in the State Duma from Karachaevo-Cherkessk, offered a Chechnya peace plan. Chechnya, says Berezovsky, must remain part of the Russian Federation. The rebels must disarm (and those who won’t must “go to whatever country will take them”), the terrorists will be tried “in accordance with international law” and a final settlement must be reached through “political means.” Public service means a lot to Berezovsky: Duma deputies are constitutionally protected from prosecution.
