YAKUBOVSKY’S BROTHER DETAINED IN ZURICH.

The brother of DmitriYakubovsky, the Russian entrepreneur at the center of a scandal, hasbeen detained in Switzerland, Moscow radio reports. The twobrothers–Dmitri and Stanislav–first came to public attention in 1993after they paid for a Swiss shopping spree by the wife of formersecurity minister Viktor Barannikov. Subsequently, in January 1995,Dmitri was arrested for stealing several ancient manuscripts from aRussian museum; his arrest on that charge led Israeli police to detainseveral other suspects in the case. One of them, an art expert, hastold authorities that he compiled a list of manuscripts to be stolenand faxed it to Stanislav. The market price for these manuscripts isestimated to be over $100 million.
