YELTSIN CHINA VISIT LOOMS.

Russia and China are expected to issue a joint statement on relations and to sign several new cooperation agreements during Russian president Boris Yeltsin’s November 9-11 visit to the cities of Beijing and Harbin, China’s Foreign Ministry announced yesterday. (Itar-Tass, October 28) The fifth "Sino-Russia summit" will follow on the heels of two other major diplomatic events involving Asian leaders: Chinese president Jiang Zemin’s current visit to the U.S. and the November 1-2 meeting between Yeltsin and Japanese prime minister Ryutaro Hashimoto in the Russian Far East.
