YELTSIN EXPECTED BACK AT WORK BY THE NEW YEAR.

Boris Yeltsin’s health is much improved and the Russian president will soon leave the Barvikha sanitarium and return home, presidential spokesman Sergei Yastrzhembsky told a press conference yesterday. Yastrzhembsky said Yeltsin will be back at work in the Kremlin by the New Year. (ORT, December 17) Earlier, Duma speaker Gennady Seleznev said that the roundtable between the president and parliamentary and regional leaders, which was postponed when Yeltsin fell sick, will be rescheduled as soon as the president returns to work.
