Gennady Zyuganovtold Ostankino television August 25 that his Communist Party ofRussia could win up to 30 percent of the vote in this December’sparliamentary election. He said that his party would press forthe formation of a government of national salvation, the end ofreforms, the abolishment of the Russian presidency, and the "gradualre-establishment of the Soviet Union." Another leader whowants to reestablish the Soviet Union but in the form of a Russianstate, Aleksandr Rutskoi told the inaugural congress of his Derzhavaparty that his goal of uniting "monarchists, communistsand nationalists into a single movement" still remains a"dream."
