Militant Leadership Monitor – September 2024

The September 2024 issue of Militant Leadership Monitor starts off with a look at the most wanted militant in the West Bank, Mohammed Jaber, better known as “Abu Shujaa,” who was killed in August 2024. Following the brief, there is an examination of Chaudhry Muneeb Ur Rehman Jatt, better known as Commander Muneeb, a former al-Qaeda leader who has revolutionized the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) recruitment and propaganda efforts. In the next article, the publication considers the ongoing success of Twan Mrat Naing, the influential and controversial leader of the Arakan Army in Myanmar. The publication ends with an account of General Tariq Saleh, the leader of the internationally recognized government-aligned National Resistance Forces (NRF), which are currently keeping the Houthi rebels in Yemen from seizing the country’s entire Red Sea coast.
