OSCE BARRED FROM TRANSDNIESTER MONITORING BODY.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 3 Issue: 60

Transdniester troops yesterday turned back from Bendery the delegation of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, which was due to attend in that city a regular meeting of the Joint Armistice Control Commission (JACC). Inside the conference hall, the Transdniester side vetoed the OSCE’s attendance. Tiraspol had recently threatened to take that step in response to the Mission’s latest report to the OSCE permanent bodies in Vienna and for the duration of U.S. diplomat Donald Johnson’s tenure as Mission chief.
