TRIAL DATE SET FOR ACCUSED FBI SPY.

Earl Pitts, the FBI agent arrested December 18 on allegations of spying for Moscow, pleaded not guilty to those charges on December 30. The trial for the forty-three-year old lawyer is scheduled to begin on April 21. That is one week before commencement of the trial of Harold Nicholson, the CIA veteran arrested on November 16 and also charged with spying for Moscow. Both Pitts and Nicholson have been denied bail and are being held in an Alexandria, Virginia jail. Their trials are to take place in Alexandria. (Reuter, December 30)
