He would defeat Yeltsin 38 percent to 8 percent,nationalist Vladimir Zhirinovsky 42 percent to 11 percent, andreformer Grigory Yavlinsky 33 percent to 20 percent. But in eachcase, sizable portions of the electorate–21-28 percent–saidthey would not participate in the voting if that was the choiceoffered.
